I'll be talking about my vision for our district, answering questions and sharing important information as things evolve during the transition with our new district through short videos.

We have a gift, a singular opportunity in creating a new school district. I’m running for school board to ensure that we make the most of this unique moment. I believe our new board should be a voice for our local community of parents and students while simultaneously being a fierce advocate for our teachers and staff. We need to carry forward the best of Alpine while also using this fresh start to make meaningful change. Let’s work together to make our district the gold standard for education in Utah.

Dedicated to Supporting Our Teachers and Staff

I’m committed to advocating for our teachers and staff, to make sure they have the resources and support they need to succeed. I want to see a district where we create, maintain and quickly evolve policies and standards that support the work that our teachers do everyday. Let’s help them return their focus to the work of teaching and create a support system that minimizes all their distractions and unproductive busy work. I also want to make sure our district is fair and transparent with our teacher contracts in an era when the legislature is trying to limit their ability to represent themselves.

I invite you to read more about my vision for our new school board. More importantly, I want to hear from you! I am talking to our community of educators to hear it directly from the source. I’m not an expert or a PhD in education, but I know how to listen to those who are.

A Bridge for Our Community

With a commitment to transparency, I intend to maintain an open ear to the concerns, needs, frustrations and victories of our students, and parents. I’ll be a voice for our community serving as a bridge to the education professionals of our district making sure that your voice is heard. Here on my website, you’ll see ever updated info about what’s happening with the board and our schools. Even more important, you’ll always see a way to contact me so I can hear directly from you.

Meaningful Change

Building schools vs closing schools, decades old policy, changing/challenging/competing needs… there’s a reason we needed a new district. People couldn’t come together to do what's best for our communities. We need a fresh perspective. We need people that can resolve conflict while also challenging, questioning and creating accountability. We need less politics and more actually understanding pf our problems- then ultimately making the hard decisions in the best interest of our students.

In my professional career, one of my primary strengths (and responsibilities) is problem solving - working in a team to create not just solutions but systems and processes for improvement. I try to be kind and considerate, but I’m also not afraid to confront and challenge. I do all my work through the lens of creating a lasting culture and focus on achieving shared goals and vision.
